Mavis Cheviot "Kitt" |
Guild Master |
Age: 27
Height: 6'1
Origins: Kedeaan
Citizen of: Sanlow
To say someone was born into the criminal life...that is something Mavis refuses to believe. It's an excuse. If you can't own up to the choices you've made in your life, you're not worth his time. Mavis chose to steal. He made the choice to steal from a noble merchant at the age of thirteen, and therefore deserved to be thrown into prison. He chose to escape, and to continue what he was doing. For Mavin, it started at a young age. He could say thievery started right at the get-go, but that would be another excuse and a lie. It started from exposure. If there's one thing he hates, it's when people exaggerate to create sympathy or stir up some emotion. If something was truthfully moving and worth sympathizing with, then strip down the flack built up around it and see if it speaks to anyone then. You've clearly had too much time to think about this if you can list off all your excuses and create the perfect sad story. Mavis likes the cold, hard truth. Admit you can change, or admit you went wrong somewhere and maybe then he won't give you such a cold shoulder. People believe Mavis has no sympathy for anyone or anything. He's cold-hearted. They say eyes are the windows to your soul, so it must be true. His striking blue eyes must reveal the ice cavern inside him where no warmth spreads. Even if you somehow strike a match inside, the fire will vanish in an instant. Mavis knows this isn't how he is, and that's what matters to him. He doesn't open up to just anyone, and people see that as cruel. It's not cruel; it's considerate. It's for the benefit of others and himself. Mavis has been in the Thieves Guild ever since he escaped prison. His test was to clear his name. They couldn't have someone enter when they already had dirt on them. It was one of the hardest thievery tasks he'd ever done, but it was what he had to do to make up for his mistakes. After his name had been cleared, Mavis was given the opportunity to step away from the life of a criminal. He was given a new, clean slate which rarely ever happens. Mavis stepped into the Thieves Guild, and began to write new chapters on the clean papers. Mavis learned the most from the previous guild master himself, and to this day his character resembles the old master. When the previous guild master disappeared, Mavis was the one to step up and take his place because he had been closest. Mavis's nickname "Kitt" has many stories connected to it. Some are true, while others are a bit stretched. If you're curious, just ask him personally. He has no problem sharing the stories. One of the most popular stories was the time he just left the fishery in the middle of the night after stealing a relic the owners bought from another guild member. They got their money, and Mavis was to steal the relic back as well so they came out on top. While leaving the fishery from the back, two stray cats had followed him. He smelled of fish, and the cats believed he had some to offer. The animals nearly exposed him, and followed him all the way to the meeting place where the others waited.
Mavis has had history of being with different girls from time to time, but as his rank rose, his focus went elsewhere. He has striking bone structure and it's no wonder how it was easy for him to find someone who was also interested in him. He specializes in duel wielding smaller swords or daggers. He has a deep voice that almost has a creak when he first speaks.
